Discover Cheong Wa Dae

The address of Cheong Wa Dae is 1 Cheong Wa Dae-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul. It is located to the north of the city center, which is densely packed with government offices such as Seoul City Hall and the commercial districts of, Jongno, and Euljiro, with Bukaksan Mountain as its backdrop. In 1911, during the Japanese occupation, Cheong Wa Dae's address was first designated as “Gwanghwamun 1.” Following liberation, it was changed to the Korean-style “Sejong-ro 1” in 1946. The address was updated to its current form in 2014 with the introduction of the street name address system.
